Skeng: The phonetics in slang and it’s use in Grime music

Skeng is a 110 page publication I produced in 2019 which was inspired by my ongoing interest around Grime music and the language used by members of this subculture as well as the music artists who maintain it. This showcases the relationship between the slang, that is used in the UK, and Grime music, celebrating both of these elements through design.

In March 2021 20 copies were released to the public where all proceeds where then donated to PeopleDemCollective - a local community based in Margate, Kent who are currently undergoing plans of developing a cultural centre in Margate.
